University of Split Library
The new University of Split Library was constructed within the University Campus in Split and designed as a modern academic, educational and research facility.
The library is organised into three functional units. The southern tower houses the library administration, IT workshops and rooms for the processing of old and rare materials. The northern tower serves as a multifunctional centre with exhibition spaces, while the central underground area contains a student reading room with 500 seats and storage facilities for more than 400,000 books.
The project received national recognition at the CEMEX Building Award 2010, winning first place in the sustainable construction category.
The project provided the University of Split with a modern library, educational and research space, contributing to the development of the academic community and the improvement of educational infrastructure.
