Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences and Faculty of Teacher Education

The new building of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences and the Faculty of Teacher Education was constructed within the University Campus in Rijeka, providing modern facilities for higher education, teaching and research activities.

At its highest point, the building extends over eight floors, two of which are basement levels. The lower part of the building was designed as a transparent and open space with an aluminium glazed façade, incorporating groups of lecture halls emphasised as volumes clad in perforated metal sheets.

The upper part of the building has a more enclosed architectural expression, with façade cladding made of Eternit panels in subtle shades of yellow. A distinctive architectural feature is created by the green domed roofs of the lecture halls and the open gallery, shaped by the texture of grid stair treads and a perforated envelope in neutral tones.

The project contributed to the development of the University Campus in Rijeka and provided improved spatial conditions for students, teaching staff and researchers.
