Poljana Square and Garage

Poljana Square in Šibenik was redeveloped as a central public space of the city, incorporating an underground garage and supporting facilities that improve the functionality of the urban core.

The project included the construction of an underground garage with a total floor area of 10,911.45 m², arranged over three levels. The garage provides 256 parking spaces and includes an accompanying transformer station, significantly improving access to the city centre.

The surface design of the square is shaped by horizontal movement directions, aligned with the dynamics of everyday public use. Next to the city library, a section of the access bridge and a platform above the tower were constructed, intended for the presentation of archaeological remains and integrated with landscape design.

Two smaller pavilions are also located on the square, further supporting the functionality and public character of the space.

The project transformed Poljana Square into a modern, functional and representative urban space, important for traffic organisation, public life and the identity of Šibenik’s city centre.
