Viaduct on the Solin – Plano section

The viaduct on State Road D8, on the Solin – Plano section, was constructed as an important part of the transport infrastructure, enabling a safe crossing over a natural valley and railway line.

The structure is located next to the existing viaduct on the left carriageway and was designed with horizontal and vertical curves, a variable transverse road slope and a modern drainage system.

The viaduct structure consists of eight spans forming a single integrated unit, composed of longitudinal span girders, transverse girders above the supports and a carriageway slab. The longitudinal span girders were executed as precast T-section girders, ranging from 12 to 16 m in length.

The carriageway slab was completed with waterproofing and a 30 cm asphalt layer. The monolithic staircase was executed with two independent cantilever columns, while the abutments were built using conventional monolithic elements.

The project improved traffic safety, functionality and flow on the Solin – Plano section, contributing to better connectivity along this part of State Road D8.
