Lavčević-inženjering d.o.o. has been selected as the contractor for the reconstruction, vertical extension and expansion of Biograd Primary School, including the improvement of its surrounding outdoor areas. The construction contract is valued at EUR 8.45 million excluding VAT, representing a significant investment in educational infrastructure in Zadar County.
The project involves the comprehensive reconstruction and expansion of the existing school building, located at 27 Dr. Franje Tuđmana Street in Biograd na Moru. The planned works include structural construction, building services installations and finishing works designed to increase the school's capacity and provide modern facilities for teaching and learning.
Upon completion, the upgraded school will feature 12 classrooms for lower primary grades and 14 classrooms for upper primary grades, a new kitchen and dining hall, and dedicated facilities for two special education groups. The school is planned to accommodate up to 25 class groups, with a maximum capacity of 700 pupils.
One of the project's primary objectives is to establish the conditions required for single-shift teaching and the introduction of a full-day school programe. By expanding and modernizing the existing facilities, the development will improve the learning environment for pupils and working conditions for teachers, while providing facilities for daily school meals.
Particular attention will be given to energy efficiency, functional space planning and compliance with modern educational and inclusive design standards.
The wider project has a total estimated value of approximately EUR 13.2 million, including EUR 8.73 million in grant funding. The remaining investment will be jointly financed by Zadar County and the City of Biograd na Moru.
