Lavčević has successfully completed construction and development works on the new International Passenger Terminal in the Port of Split, marking an important milestone in the modernization of maritime passenger infrastructure in Dalmatia.
Construction began in February 2024 and was completed in September 2026. The project was commissioned by the Port Authority of Split, with Lavčević Inženjering serving as the construction contractor.
Located on the outer breakwater of Split's City Port, the new terminal occupies the site of the former Jadranribolov facilities. The project included the construction of a modern terminal building with a gross floor area of approximately 2,677 m², the reconstruction and extension of existing structures, improvements to traffic areas, and landscaping of the surrounding site.
The terminal comprises a ground floor, an upper floor and an accessible rooftop level. The ground floor provides passenger waiting areas, information and ticketing facilities, sanitary facilities, and dedicated spaces for police, customs and border control operations. The upper floor accommodates administrative and operational facilities, while the rooftop level, known as Lungomare, has been designed as a publicly accessible space offering panoramic views of Split and its waterfront.
A key benefit of the project is the planned relocation of international passenger traffic and border control facilities from St. Duje Pier to the new terminal. This will enable approximately 14,000 m² of operational port space to be made available for domestic maritime traffic, supporting more efficient port operations and improved connections between Split and the surrounding Dalmatian islands.
The total project investment amounts to approximately EUR 20.15 million, supported by funding from Croatia's National Recovery and Resilience Plan and the Croatian state budget.
Through the successful completion of these works, Lavčević has contributed to the modernization of the Port of Split, the improvement of passenger facilities and the continued development of the city's transport infrastructure.
This achievement further demonstrates Lavčević's expertise, experience and commitment to delivering demanding construction and infrastructure projects.
